Kalbar holds either exploration licenses or retention licenses for its tenements in East Gippsland. Under these licenses, Kalbar may undertake exploration with landowner permission. Since first discovery, there have been nine drilling campaigns to explore the Glenaladale deposit.
Samples have been analysed to understand their metallurgy and how well the ore can be processed using different processing methods
Exploration drilling is conducted with a small rig to take samples of the sand underneath at different depths. Each sample is panned to test if there is any heavy mineral.
After drilling, each hole is plugged back to the surface, and the site rehabilitated to its original condition.
