Brad Farrell, Chairman
Brad has some 45 years’ experience in the resources industry. During this time he has been involved in several significant mineral sands discoveries and developments including Sierra Leone (Rotifunk); Western Australia (Scott Coastal Plain and Gwindinup – mined by BeMax Ltd); and the Murray Basin of Victoria and NSW. He was the founder, Managing Director and Executive Chairman of Basin Minerals Ltd which developed the Douglas Mineral Sands Project in Victoria before merging with Iluka Resources in October 2002.
Neil O’Loughlin, Executive Director – Technical & Project Development
Neil is a geologist with over 30 years’ experience in mineral exploration and mine development. In the mineral sands industry, he is well known as the co-founder and Executive Director of Basin Minerals Ltd which developed the Douglas Mineral Sands Project in Victoria before merging with Iluka Resources in 2002.
Brad Pettersson, Finance Director
Brad is an accountant with 25 years experience specialising in tax law and commercial transactions. He commenced work with Arthur Andersen Sydney and became a Tax Partner with Ernst & Young within the Corporate and International Tax Practice. He then became Managing Director of Mining Advisory Consultants, a company providing support to clients in transactions, the financing of transactions, and effective tax structuring. Brad has held various advisory roles specialising in the Mining industry around financial strategy and M&A.
Robert Bishop, Non-Executive Director
Rob is a Chemical Engineer with 20 years’ experience in the mining sector, including mineral sands at Tiwest Mineral Sands in Western Australia. As well as practical mining experience, Rob has spent over 10 years in the finance industry focusing on the resources sector. Rob is a founding director of Kalbar Resources, and was formerly Managing Director and Executive Chairman of Kalbar Resources.
Jim Kerr, Non-Executive Director
Jim is a Geologist who has over 25 years’ experience in the global mining industry having developed projects across the commodity spectrum in Australia, Asia-Pacific and Sub-Sahara Africa. He has held senior executive roles for companies including Iscor, Barrick Gold Corporation, Mincor, Tethyan Copper, Lithic Metals and Energy (as MD) and Hillgrove Resources.
Ian Warden, Non-Executive Director
Ian is a Geologist with over a decade of industry experience in coal and nickel exploration, coal and iron ore marketing and market research, and nickel processing technology development. He has held positions with Rio Tinto, AME Mineral Economics, and most recently with Direct Nickel as their Project Development Manager and President Director of their Indonesian subsidiary PT Direct Nickel.
Rob has over 40 years’ worth of experience in financial and corporate roles, including over 25 years in Company Secretarial roles for ASX-listed companies, and over 20 years as a Director of ASX-listed companies. He has significant company secretarial experience for both listed and unlisted companies, and is a Director of Oakhill Hamilton Pty Ltd (which provides secretarial and corporate advisory services to a range of listed and unlisted companies), and was formerly a Non-Executive Director of Kalbar.
Victor Hugo, Chief Executive Officer
Victor has over 25 years of experience in the titanium and zircon industries, including senior roles with TZMI and Iluka Resources where he spent 13 years at a senior leadership level in roles which included GM Sales and Marketing (2003 to 2009), GM Product and Technical Development (2010 to 2013) and GM Exploration (2013 to 2016). In February 2017, Victor commenced work as a consultant for Kalbar Resources and was appointed Chief Operating Officer during the same year. Victor was appointed Chief Executive Officer in February 2019.
Chris Cook, Regional Manager, Gippsland
Chris is a Civil Engineer and business manager with over 20 years’ experience in management of businesses and civil infrastructure projects. Chris has held management positions within large multi-national companies such as BHP, Fletcher Building and AECOM in Victoria, WA, Queensland and in East Gippsland. He was previously a Board Member of Gippsland Ports.
