ROBERT BISHOP, CHAIRMAN
Rob is a Chemical Engineer (BEng Chem, Curtin WA) with significant experience in mineral sands metallurgy. He started his career at Tiwest Mineral Sands and most recently supervised Kalbar’s Kalimantan development program, which defined two major bauxite deposits. As a result of this work, two alumina refineries are currently under construction.
As well as practical mining experience, Rob has spent over 10 years in the finance industry focusing on the resources sector.
NEIL O’LOUGHLIN, MANAGING DIRECTOR
Neil is a geologist with over 25 years’ experience in mineral exploration and mine development in Australia and overseas in a range of commodities. In the mineral sands industry he is well known as the co-founder and Executive Director of Basin Minerals Ltd, which discovered and brought to feasibility the Douglas Mineral Sands Project in Victoria prior to the purchase by Iluka Resources Limited in 2003. The Douglas deposits (Bondi, Bondi East and Echo) have since been mined by Iluka Resources Ltd, while other commercially significant deposits discovered by Basin Minerals include the Gallipoli and Balranald projects in NSW.
Neil has 17 years’ experience as a director of ASX listed companies and is currently a non executive director of ASX listed Braziron Ltd.
VICTOR HUGO, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Victor has over 25 years of experience in the titanium and zircon industries, having worked in a variety of roles for Richards Bay Minerals, Cable Sands, RGC, TZMI and Iluka. He joined Kalbar in February 2017 following 13 years working for Iluka in senior leadership roles including GM Exploration, GM Product and Technical Development and GM Sales and Marketing. Victor has a PhD in Geology and wrote his thesis on titanium minerals along the east coast of South Africa.
CHRIS COOK, REGIONAL MANAGER, GIPPSLAND
Chris is a Civil Engineer and business manager with over 20 years’ experience in managing a diverse range of businesses and civil infrastructure projects.
Chris has held engineering and management positions within large multi-national companies such as BHP, Fletcher Building and AECOM in Victoria, WA, QLD and in East Gippsland. Whilst with AECOM in Bairnsdale, Chris was a Project Manager and Regional Manager responsible for delivery of over $70m of public water/wastewater infrastructure, including Woodglen Reservoir near Glenaladale. He was also Project Manager for the Gippsland and East Gippsland Freight Strategies.
Chris has lived and worked in East Gippsland for the last 10 years and is an active member of the community. He is on the board of Gippsland Ports, Junior President of Paynesville Football Netball Club and GSI Delegate for East Gippsland Water Dragons among other roles.

BRAD FARRELL, DIRECTOR
Brad Farrell has some 45 years’ experience in the resources industry as a successful exploration geologist and developer involved in a variety of commodities. In this time, he has been involved in several significant mineral sands discoveries and developments, including Sierra Leone (Rotifunk); Western Australia (Scott Coastal Plain and Gwindinup (currently being mined)); and the Murray Basin of Victoria and NSW. Brad was the founder and major shareholder of Basin Minerals Limited, taken over by Iluka Resources Limited in 2002 for its major Douglas Project (now mined).
Brad has a Bachelor of Science (Honours Economic Geology), a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy. He is a Fellow and Chartered Professional Geologist of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, a member of Mineral Industry Consultants Association, and a member and a Chartered Engineer of Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (formerly Institution of Mining and Metallurgy (London)).
BRAD PETTERSSON, DIRECTOR
Mr Pettersson is an accountant specialising in commercial law. The first half of his career was spent at Arthur Andersen which is where his Asian experience began as a Technical Advisor in the Corporate and International Tax Practice of the Jakarta Branch. After leaving Arthur Andersen in 2006, he was a director of Braga Capital until 2009 and then became Managing Director of Mining Advisory Consultants, a consulting services company providing support to clients in originating, leading and structuring transactions along with providing support around financing of transactions, capital requirements and effective tax structuring.
JIM KERR, DIRECTOR
Jim has over 25 years’ experience in the global mining industry. He has developed projects across the commodity spectrum in Australia, Asia-Pacific and Sub-Sahara Africa. He has held senior executive roles for companies including Iscor, Barrick Gold Corporation, Mincor, Tethyan Copper, Lithic Metals and Energy (as MD) and Hillgrove Resources. His diverse experience includes project acquisition and development, corporate and strategic advice, corporate and project finance and mergers and acquisitions both domestically and internationally. Jim is a geologist and holds a Masters degree in Mineral Economics.
IAN WARDEN, DIRECTOR
Ian is a Geologist (BSc Applied Science – Geology (Hons), UNSW) with over a decade of industry experience in coal and nickel exploration, coal and iron ore marketing and market research, and nickel processing technology development. He has held positions with Rio Tinto, AME Mineral Economics, and most recently with Direct Nickel as their Project Development Manager and President Director of their Indonesian subsidiary PT Direct Nickel.

Robert’s experience has been gained over 40 years in financial and corporate roles including 20 years in company secretarial roles for ASX listed companies and over 15 years as a director of ASX listed companies. He is a director of Oakhill Hamilton Pty Ltd, which provides company secretarial and corporate advisory services to a range of listed and unlisted companies.
